Canvas items can be written in TOM, as subclasses of TOMCanvasItem. This has the same restrictions as TOMWidgets.

Widgets can be written in TOM, as subclasses of TOMWidget. Since a subclass in TOM of TOMWidget does not induce a subclass in the Gtk object system, a TOM widget can not add signals. I have yet to think about adding object arguments.
