Binary distributions of the TOM compiler, tools, and libraries are available as listed below.

Tesla

Unfortunately, tesla is not yet packaged in any OS distribution and isn't available in binary form. However, it isn't that difficult to build according to the instructions found here.

Anyone interested in providing binary packages of tesla and the newer libraries, or assisting with packaging for an OS distribution should send email to the tom mailing list.

Older

Binaries are still available for older versions of the TOM compiler and the supporting utilities and libraries. It is recommended that you build and install a copy of tesla instead.

Debian Linux

As of June 18th 1999, TOM is part of Debian, with the following packages:
libtom1
the shared libraries libraries, in section libs,
libtom1-dev
their compile-time and link-time information, in section devel, and
tom
the TOM compiler and tools, also in section devel.
These packages supercede the previously available packages tom-base and tom-libs.

A copy, local to gerbil.org, of the i386 and powerpc Debian packages is available here.

FreeBSD

A binary package of TOM on FreeBSD is available here. Thanks, Remy Wetzels.
